Nguyen Viet Cuong - Senior Counsel

Mr. Nguyen Viet Cuong is a Senior Counsel at LuatViet. He previously acted as the Judge of the People’s Supreme Court, then was appointed as Vice Chief of the Civil Court of the People’s Supreme Court in 1991 and Vice Chief of the Labour Court of the People’s Supreme Court in 1996. In 2002, he acted as the Chief Judge of Labour Court of the People’s Supreme Court and retired in 2007. With more than 20 years working in key judiciary positions in the People’s Supreme Court, Mr. Cuong has accumulated valuable experience with respect to the resolutions of labour, commercial and civil disputes.

Mr. Cuong obtained his BS Degree in Mathematics from the University of Hanoi in 1971 and the College of Court in 1980. He received his LL.B degree from Hanoi University of Law in 1993 and the Master of Laws (LL.M) from Hanoi University of Law in 1997.
Currently he is a visiting lecturer at Hanoi University of Law and the Academy of Justice.

Mr. Cuong is a member of Hanoi Bar Association and the Vietnam Lawyers’ Association.
